Strategies for Justice: Advanced Investigation and Prosecution of Child Abuse and Exploitation

to be held

 

August 23- 27, 2010

 

at the Gaylord National Resort and Conference center at National Harbor, Maryland

Strategies for Justice offers advanced training to child abuse professionals and emphasizes the role of multidisciplinary teams in the investigation and prevention of child abuse and exploitation. Strategies for Justice explores the most current child abuse research, including the linkages between child abuse, intimate partner violence, and animal abuse, and familiarizes participants with challenging medical evidentiary issues.  Panels featuring representatives from child advocacy centers across the country will present innovative strategies utilized to address local barriers and to capitalize on local strengths. A full day of sessions is dedicated to improving the institutional responses to child victims of prostitution/human trafficking. Trial advocacy components offer advanced strategies and address issues prosecutors often encounter.
