From the Desk of the
President...
April
2005
Spring has sprung. I don't know about you,
but I'm SO glad! What's so great about Spring? Well, there's new life,
warmth and...Spring cleaning.
And as always, new lessons to be learned. We survived a tough winter,
so new life sounds great. Do we need new life breathed into us? Most
probably. How? Lots of wonderful, refreshing ways. Some of the ways
that we can have new life are: networking, seeing old friends, making
new friends and updating our knowledge. ENA By The Bay sounds like a
great way to do all this. May 5th and 6th in Linthicum at the Maritime
Institute. I ,for one , can't wait. If you have not yet received your
mailing, please contact me through the web site. Each one of us, as
ENA members, needs to help bring new life. We need to help "give
birth" to new members. You may recall my writing that if each one
of us helps to recruit one new member this year our numbers will have
doubled in one year. Should be easy. Currently, ENA is experiencing
unprecedented growth. Wouldn't it be nice to be a part of ENA history?
It is my sincere desire that we feel the
warmth of others, as well as the warmth the weather will bring. Now
about Spring cleaning...it needs to be done. Our home and work
environments probably need some "sprucing up". We may need a
little "sprucing up" ourselves. A little physical fitness, a
little mental fitness. I recently got a head start at the ENA
Leadership Challenge 2005 in Fort Lauderdale. Great meeting, with the
largest attendance ever. Over one thousand ED nurses attended.
Lets hope we set new records at ENA By The
Bay; I hope to see you there!
Now for a quick personal note-I'm getting
married and will soon have a new name. Unfortunately, this upcoming
change didn't make it into your ENA By The Bay mailing.
I'll sign off one last time as,
Kathy Ferrara
