President's Message

A Fond Farewell

As this year comes to a close and my responsibilities draw to an end, I reflect upon the accomplishments and the work that still needs to be done.

Our website has become our primary source of communication with the members and those who are interested in our organization. I have been bombarded by multiple emails since we have developed the site concerning our operations, members, work, etc. Each email has been answered and I am pleased to announce that we continue to gain recognition from this showcase of work.

The leaders of your state organization have worked long hours to continue to keep our work and services available to our members. This is done as VOLUNTEER work in their "spare time" (which they sacrifice to keep our organization functioning). We are always looking for others who can contribute their expertise and precious time and/or effort to assist this process. Please contact your leaders at the chapter and/or the state level if you are interested.

Nursing and the rest of the health care field continues to undergo constant change that we must be a part of if we are to have our voices and concerns heard. It is through the organization that we can brainstorm and develop strategies and coping techniques to address these changes. It is only through awareness, knowledge and unity that we can show strength and leadership in the healthcare arena. Collaboration with our colleagues gives us the edge we need to make a positive impact and a noticeable difference. Consider all that you have to share and all that you need to learn and join us as an ACTIVE member of the emergency nursing team. An injection of fresh ideas and thought-provoking questions is what keeps us all stimulated professionally and moves us forward. Each and every one of you are the foundation of the state organization….its roots. I challenge you to contribute to our growth with your input.

Have a Happy Healthy Holiday and best wishes to all for a Joyous New Year!
