From the Desk of the President... ..October 2004

Greetings to All,

I just returned from Scientific Assembly in beautiful, sunny and friendly San Diego.  It was great to be able to see some of my old friends and it gave me the ability to make some new ones.  The courses were lively and stimulating.  The one thing I wish would be that everyone in the state membership could have had the opportunity to attend.

Speaking of the state membership, I have an appeal to make to all of you.  It is time for us to send out the ballots for electing new officers for 2005.  As of now, we have one candidate running for secretary and no one running for President-elect or treasurer.  I envision our organization to be of great strength, but our organization can only be as strong as its leadership and membership allows us to be.  I am asking all of you to consider running for a state office.  If no one chooses to run, we will be forced to send out a ballot with write-in capabilities for all offices. If you are interested in running for an office, please send your letter of intent and a copy of your resume to Kathy Ferrara, MDENA President-elect, at kferrara@closecall.com

The holidays are fast approaching and the year is almost over.  I have really enjoyed the opportunity to serve the state membership.  I have tried to attend a chapter meeting from each chapter.   I hope all of you stay healthy and happy.  I look forward to seeing you at the next state event.
